Happy Halloween!

As usual, I left it to the last minute.  P's pants (Sandbox Pants from Oliver + S) and K's hat (my beach hat + ribbon and a few strategically placed safety pins) were finished with just enough time to get a little dinner before heading out to trick or treat.
But enough talking, it's the pictures you want to see!

Flamingo (BK), Skeleton (MG), Indian Chief (P), Southern Belle (K)

BK is wearing MG's costume from 2 years ago that my mom made.  If you want details about what patterns were used for BK's costume they are all HERE.

MG chose to be a skeleton.  We had the mask (I think it was part of a mummy costume?) and I made a black top and ironed on the rib cage and arm bones.  The black leggings were store bought and have silver bones freezer paper stencilled on.  MG's costume was not my best work.  I'm good for about one costume each Halloween and then I'm done.  P's costume took all my creative mojo.  But MG was happy with it so that's all that matters!

You got a sneak peek at P's costume earlier. I made a pair of Sandbox pants in a tan poplin for him to wear. I up sized the pattern so that they would fit. In fact, I went a little overboard and ended up having to take in the pants a bit. oops! The top is one of his pajama shirts...I added fringe to the front, arms, and bottom. The feather headdress is felt, elastic, and feathers. Easy Peasy. Now the bow and arrow is all P and his dad's work. On Saturday, the made a trip to the hardware store and using a tutorial from Ikat Bag made 4 sets of bow and arrows for the kids.  Those bow and arrows kept my crew entertained for hours on Sunday and Monday while we were housebound due to Hurricane Sandy.:)

K is wearing a dress and hoop skirt that my mom had.  (fun fact:  I wore that same hoop skirt under my wedding dress!)  The long white gloves are mine from back in college when I was an escort/date for VMI's Ring Figure.  Her "bonnet" was a last minute addition.  We used my sun hat and folded the sides of the back and the back under and secured them with safety pins.  Then we tied a white lace/green ribbon around the hat.  I love that full length picture of K as a Southern Belle.

Thankfully, Halloween is now done and all that's left is to munch on some candy!;)

*The Birthday Giveaway is still open if you haven't entered.  I'll close it down around 7pm EST tomorrow, November 1st and announce the winner on Friday, November 2nd.*I corrected my mistake.  sorry!
