I should have been working on costumes this week but instead, I checked off another item of clothing that I was supposed to have sewn during KCWC....a knit top for K.
This pattern is one I first used in 2009 for K in the exact same size. K has grown taller in 3 years but not much bigger around!

Pattern: Ottobre Design 01/09 #34 "Sorja Slim Fit tee"
Size: 140
Fabric: Rib Knit from The Fabric Fairy (purchased earlier this year)
Mods: Scooped the neckline lower and lengthened the body/sleeves

The size 140 is actually a little big through the shoulders and underarms as you can see in the back photo...
It's a good basic knit top and is a lot like the RTW tops that K prefers to wear.
And I did do a little costume work on Friday...
The top is one of P's pj tops and I cut up a pair of K's outgrown brown leggings for the fringe. I used a 3.5 stitch so that once Halloween is over I can easily remove the fringe. The headdress is a felt band with elastic in the back. I hot glued tall feathers on the front and then covered that with felt. Then I glued smaller feathers on top and on the 2 long strands hanging down on either side. He wore this to his school's Halloween dance last night.;)
I still need to make him some tan pants (I enlarged the Sandbox pattern yesterday afternoon) and make M's costume. That'll be this weekend's project...as long as Hurricane Sandy doesn't knock out the power!
