K needed a new pair of shorts for FL so during the flurry of Easter sewing I grabbed the Oliver + S Class Picnic pattern and whipped out a quick pair.
They are size 12 and fit okay once they are on but...K being 13 almost 14 no longer has a child's body. And those curves present a bit of a problem getting shorts/pants on that aren't stretchy and/or don't have a zip fly. I'll probably go back and redo the waistband and put in a zip fly as I doubt they'll get much wear time as is.

Now on to the shenanigans!
While we were in Florida I had the pleasure of meeting Lauren of The Thinking Closet. I'm always a bit nervous meeting someone new. As much as you might think you know someone from reading their blog, there's still that bit of unknown when meeting them in person. Let me tell you, Lauren is even more genuine and kind in person.:) K tagged along as she and I had plans to get her fitted for new running shoes after the meet up. Lauren put us both at ease and as we left K remarked, "Mom, I think Lauren is the nicest person I've ever met." High words of praise from a teenager! Thanks, Lauren for showing us around. Hopefully, we can do it again next year!
