One project done, many more to go!
I've sewn many variations of the short sleeve Oliver + S 2+2 blouse but this is only my second long sleeve one. I went ahead and traced off the next size up (6) for my growing little girls.
The fabric is a M'Liss print from Hancock Fabrics. I think the print was called Weenie Dog Flower Power. It caught my eye a couple of months ago sitting on the clearance rack. The little girls have a thing for "weenie dogs" and enjoy torturing playing with our friends' dachshund. So, I couldn't resist buying the fabric. :)
I just so happened to have some bias tape in the right color that was wrapped around some of the fabric I purchased from Bessie Mary as Jan was closing her shop.
The buttons down the back are purple and I sewed them on with some vintage orange thread.
Over the last year or so, one the nicest ladies from church has been gifting me with her sewing supplies. The last bit I received had several spools of thread on wooden spools. Thank you, Mrs. Wondergem! From what I can gather, Coats & Clark started using plastic spools sometime in the 1960's. That means this orange thread is older than me! I wouldn't use it in my machine but it's perfect for sewing buttons on.
I'll be working on the Clever Charlotte Peridot Pants for MG today/tomorrow. I also need to add a little length to BK's Jasper Jodphurs which works out well as both pair of pants are brown so I won't need to swap out thread. Hopefully, I'll have another update in a couple of days!
